Please note: A competency framework is included in this training. Competency is achieved in the workplace following the training using a competency template. Each procedure needs to be signed off by a qualified, senior member of staff. The completed document can then be used to identify the individuals’ competence

Why, when and how observations are conducted, the normal range for each observation and how to record as well as action to be taken outside the range are also covered. A detailed and most invaluable course, observations covered include: temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood sugar levels, observations of specimens, neurological observations, and how to care for an unconscious patient.
This is a combined course designed for healthcare professionals, who in the course of their duties may have to administer medicine and need to either refresh their skills or wish to learn more about medication.
At the end of the Care of Medicine & Administration training course attendees will be familiar with current legislation, drug categories, labelling, prescriptions, drug administration and the accompanying paper work. Attendees will also be involved in demonstrations on the administration of tablets, capsules, creams, ointments, fluids, inserting drops to ear, nose, or eye and inhaled medication.
