This Epilepsy Rescue Medication course is aimed at those working with or responsible for the welfare and well being of individuals with epilepsy.
The course is designed to ensure that practitioners are provided with relevant theoretical knowledge and skills, whilst supported with a simulated practical based assessment.
Protocols and procedures for clinically qualified staff who are administering medications can also be included in the course, although competency must be assessed within the scope of the delegates own organisation’s policy guidelines.
Please note: A competency framework is included in this training. Competency is achieved in the workplace following the training. Each procedure needs to be signed off by a qualified, senior member of staff. The completed document can then be used to identify the individuals’ competence.
Flu Vaccination

The Flu Vaccination training course is suitable for registered nurses and experienced health care assistants working within primary care, and who have successfully completed the Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccination for Health Care Assistants course. Upon completion of the flu vaccination training course participants will have a sound understanding of seasonal influenza and vaccinations, the theoretical background of intermuscular injection techniques, the safety issues related to vaccination of the general adult population and the legal aspects of vaccination. During the session participants will demonstrate the safe administration of the vaccine using best practice techniques within the NMC guidelines, describe adverse reactions and methods to cope with such situations. Introduction to Sepsis- Sepsis Awareness

Acute Training Solution’s Sepsis Awareness training course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of this life threatening complication of an infection.
By the end of the course attendees will be better placed to spot the signs and symptoms of this reaction and will have a
knowledge of the best practice procedures following the onset of this condition.
IV Cannulation

This IV Cannulation training course is designed for all registered nurses who have not conducted IV Cannulation for a while and are looking to update their theory and skill set.
The IV Cannulation training course provides the chance to practice the skill in a controlled environment. This is a hands-on training course and we encourage participation in all the practical demonstrations and activities. On successful completion students will be awarded a certificate of attendance and are required to gain competency under clinical supervision within their own workplace.

IV Drug Therapy

This IV Drug Therapy course is designed for all nurses who want to enhance their IV Therapy knowledge and skills including administration of Intravenous Medication as part of their clinical practice updates.
The course provides the chance to practice the skill in a controlled environment. This is a hands-on training course and we encourage participation in all the practical demonstrations and activities. On successful completion students will be awarded a certificate of attendance and are required to gain competency under clinical supervision within their own workplace.Medication Administration

This clinical training course designed for healthcare professionals, who in the course of their duties may have to administer medicine and need to either refresh their skills or wish to learn more about medication.
By the end of this clinical training course; attendees will be familiar with current legislation, drug categories, labelling, prescriptions, drug administration and the accompanying paper work. Attendees will also be involved in demonstrations on the administration of tablets, capsules, creams, ointments, fluids, inserting drops to ear, nose, or eye and inhaled medication.

ONE DAY MANDATORY CARE TRAINING
Oxygen Therapy

The provision of oxygen as part of the basic life support process is not difficult and training can easily be incorporated into a primary care training programme.
Students are continuously assessed throughout the course. The applied practical workstation & simulated practical assessment can only be provided if the equipment is available on site.
Palliative Care
This Palliative Care training course is best run for either care staff or trained staff but not a mixed group as their needs are very different.
It is designed for people new to this field or as a refresher. This should be viewed as an overview as palliative care is a diverse topic with many factors dependent to the patients specific needs. This course allows people to discuss their own feelings/experiences of dealing with a life limiting illness.

Pressure Area Care & Tissue Viability

This Pressure Area Care and Tissue Viability course is designed for carers and RGN’s who may need to update their skill and knowledge on the topics of pressure area care and tissue viability (prevention and management of wounds) including aspects of skin and soft tissue wounds.
The course considers measures to prevent pressure area wound development, the different types of pressure area wounds and best practise when managing wounds.

This Suction and Nebuliser training course is designed to educate and train healthcare professionals to perform all facets of care with this equipment safely and competently.
By the end of the Suction and Nebuliser training course, attendees will be familiar with the equipment and techniques associated with both suction and nebulisers and the reasons to employ them. The applied practical workstation & simulated practical assessment can only be provided if the equipment is available on site
Syringe Driver Awareness

This Syringe Driver Awareness training course covers a range of issues associated with this form of medication delivery, in order to provide a highly practical resource for nurses and health professionals.
The Syringe Driver Awareness training course begins by introducing syringe drivers and their use in palliative care. Subsequently, the procedures for preparing the patient and driver, and for commencing the infusion, are outlined. Finally, a number of troubleshooting ideas and the practical application of syringe driver are presented.

The Tracheostomy Care training course is designed to educate and enable healthcare professionals to perform tracheostomy care safely and competently.
A certificate of attendance is issued on completion of this course. Using our tracheostomy competency template, competency can be achieved within the workplace and a tracheostomy competency certificate will be distributed.

Following the theory of venepuncture there will be a practical session designed to offer all participants to put their skills into practice in a controlled environment.
