It is the new minimum standards that should be covered as part of induction training of new care workers. Our care certificate course is fully accredited by TQUK and is equivalent to the Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care.
The course applies across social care and health links to National Occupational Standards and units in qualifications covers what is needed to be caring – giving workers a good basis from which they can develop their knowledge and skills.

This Basic Observation training course has been designed for healthcare assistants who are looking to improve their medical skills and knowledge and will enable them to be employed within hospital environments.
Why, when and how observations are conducted, the normal range for each observation and how to record as well as action to be taken outside the range are also covered. A detailed and most invaluable course, observations covered include: temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood sugar levels, observations of specimens, neurological observations, and how to care for an unconscious patient.

This is a combined course designed for healthcare professionals, who in the course of their duties may have to administer medicine and need to either refresh their skills or wish to learn more about medication.
At the end of the Care of Medicine & Administration training course attendees will be familiar with current legislation, drug categories, labelling, prescriptions, drug administration and the accompanying paper work. Attendees will also be involved in demonstrations on the administration of tablets, capsules, creams, ointments, fluids, inserting drops to ear, nose, or eye and inhaled medication.
Catheter Care

This catheter care training course illustrates these points to maximise the benefits and minimise the problems of catheterisation. Good catheter care involves good hygiene, observation, monitoring well-being and prevention of issues associated with catheterisation. By the end of this catheter course training, attendees will be familiar with reasons for catheterisation, the equipment selection and the theory of catheter removal.

Urinary catheterisation is a medical procedure used to drain and collect urine from the bladder. Defibrillation & Airway Management

This Defibrillation and Airway Management training course is for people who wish to learn how to use an automated external defibrillator (A.E.D.).
The device can be used to administer measured electric shocks to people in cardiac arrest and is the best way of increasing the chance of survival and includes airway management.
Diabetes & Insulin / BGM

This Diabetes & Insulin training course caters for those working with or who are responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of people with diabetes, this includes healthcare professionals not specialising in diabetes. The course aims to teach attendees how to recognise the symptoms of diabetes, any signs of complications, to raise awareness of treatments and to build confidence in staff when supporting and caring for those suffering from diabetes. Dysphagia

This Dysphagia training course introduces the condition and promotes understanding of the implications and dangers when someone has difficulties with eating and swallowing. This training session supports nutrition and hydration in health and social care.

It is suitable for all grades of staff as it begins with a basic overview and builds up to an advanced level. There are no pre course requirements for this course. Enteral Feeding

This Enteral or PEG Feeding training course is designed to increase awareness of enteral feeding and to provide the delegate with the practical knowledge to deal with this feeding method. In the United Kingdom it is estimated that over 10,000 individuals will be tube fed in the community which is double the number in hospitals. Protocols and procedures for clinically qualified staff who are administering feeds & medications can also be included in the course, although competency must be assessed within the scope of the delegates own organisation’s policy guidelines. Flu Vaccination

The Flu Vaccination training course is suitable for registered nurses and experienced health care assistants working within primary care, and who have successfully completed the Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccination for Health Care Assistants course. Upon completion of the flu vaccination training course participants will have a sound understanding of seasonal influenza and vaccinations, the theoretical background of intermuscular injection techniques, the safety issues related to vaccination of the general adult population and the legal aspects of vaccination. During the session participants will demonstrate the safe administration of the vaccine using best practice techniques within the NMC guidelines, describe adverse reactions and methods to cope with such situations. The provision of oxygen as part of the basic life support process is not difficult and training can easily be incorporated into a primary care training programme.

Palliative Care
This Palliative Care training course is best run for either care staff or trained staff but not a mixed group as their needs are very different.
It is designed for people new to this field or as a refresher. This should be viewed as an overview as palliative care is a diverse topic with many factors dependent to the patients specific needs. This course allows people to discuss their own feelings/experiences of dealing with a life limiting illness.

This Pressure Area Care and Tissue Viability course is designed for carers and RGN’s who may need to update their skill and knowledge on the topics of pressure area care and tissue viability (prevention and management of wounds) including aspects of skin and soft tissue wounds.
The course considers measures to prevent pressure area wound development, the different types of pressure area wounds and best practise when managing wounds.
