The Flu Vaccination training course is suitable for registered nurses and experienced health care assistants working within primary care, and who have successfully completed the Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccination for Health Care Assistants course. Upon completion of the flu vaccination training course participants will have a sound understanding of seasonal influenza and vaccinations, the theoretical background of intermuscular injection techniques, the safety issues related to vaccination of the general adult population and the legal aspects of vaccination. During the session participants will demonstrate the safe administration of the vaccine using best practice techniques within the NMC guidelines, describe adverse reactions and methods to cope with such situations. Please note: A competency framework is included in this training. Competency is achieved in the workplace following the training. Each procedure needs to be signed off by a qualified, senior member of staff. The completed document can then be used to identify the individuals’ competence.
Diabetes & Insulin / BGM

This Diabetes & Insulin training course caters for those working with or who are responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of people with diabetes, this includes healthcare professionals not specialising in diabetes. The course aims to teach attendees how to recognise the symptoms of diabetes, any signs of complications, to raise awareness of treatments and to build confidence in staff when supporting and caring for those suffering from diabetes.
