Why do we need to know the answer to the question, “Why do controlled substances have any value?” Especially, when so many young people today are dead addicted to these dangerous and destructive drugs. It seems that in the United States it is just too easy to get hooked on drugs. So what can be done to reverse this trend, which is a very serious one?
Some say that the answer is simple. Because of our schools not teaching proper morals and values in our children, they are being taught right from wrong at an early age. In their innocence they see bad things around them and will try to emulate what they see. This can have horrible consequences for them later in life. It’s amazing how many young people today already have a substance abuse problem, such as drug use behind bars, using as many illegal drugs as possible to get high. Most are already deeply into their drug habits before they even reach their early twenties.
When you really think about it there is a very good reason as to why controlled substances are important. Without them people would not have any sense of right or wrong. Society would grind to a halt and civilization itself would crumble. And we already see that this is exactly what is happening.
There are a lot of bad things out there that can cause a person to fall into addiction. Not only do drugs affect your mind, but they also affect your body. Especially addictive drugs such as heroin, methamphetamines and cocaine. These drugs cause physical and psychological dependency. This is a very dangerous thing and it has all the hallmarks of a failed social institution.
Today we are seeing more teenagers experimenting with drugs. This is no surprise as the amount of freedom that teens now have is nothing short of impossible. At some point, parents are forced to interfere and teach their children how to use drugs in a responsible way. If we don’t teach our children the lessons that they need to learn about these dangerous things when they are young, they will most likely not be able to stay away from them as adults.
The truth of the matter is that it is not why controlled substances are important. It is because we need them. And if we don’t have them, someone else will. Whether they are friends, family members, police officers, government employees, teachers or anyone else, they will use drugs. That is why it is important to get them to a drug treatment program as soon as possible.
