Overview:
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare prepares learners for roles in residential childcare, providing essential skills and knowledge.
Qualification:
Aligned with new children’s homes regulations since April 2015. This qualification replaces the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce. It’s designed for care roles in children’s homes.
Career Progression:
Successful learners can advance to other qualifications, such as Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management, Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management, Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
Entry Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 19 years old. Must have access to a computer and internet.
Modules:
Modules cover various aspects of residential childcare. Including safeguarding, positive relationships, attachment, communication, professional development, and risk management.
Assessment Methods:
Includes portfolio reviews, practical demonstrations, written assignments, and supervisor observations.
Units:
To achieve the qualification, learners must complete mandatory and optional units. Totaling 53 credits from the Mandatory Group A and 8 credits from optional units.

The qualification comprises 460 Guided Learning Hours. Course is delivered online via an e-portfolio platform and email support. Course can be completed in 6-12 months.
