The iCQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) has been developed to give learners the opportunity to:

  • Demonstrate competence as a Residential Childcare manager.
  • Develop knowledge, understanding and skills related to the leadership and management of practitioners in Residential Childcare
  • Have existing skills recognized
  • Engage in learning that is relevant to them and which will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life
  • Achieve a nationally recognised Level 5 vocationally related qualification
  • Progress to employment in Residential Childcare

This qualification is suitable for those who work within the Residential Childcare sector as a manager or team leader. It provides Learners with an opportunity to demonstrate their occupational competence in a management role within children’s homes.

The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) serves as the required qualification under The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

What should be the entry requirements?

  • Well, there aren’t any specific and no formal needs
  • Be 19 years old and above
  • Be working at a project function appropriate for this particular pathway

Structure Requirements

To achieve the iCQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) learners must achieve a minimum of 90 credits overall. 78 credits must be achieved from the 15 mandatory units.
